damascus, syria (North Press) – A high-ranking minister-thanks-turkish-counterpart-for-enhancing-military-cooperation/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Syrian Defense Minister Thanks Turkish Counterpart for enhancing Military Cooperation">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian delegation, including Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra, and Intelligence Chief Hussein Salama, arrived on Sunday in the Turkish capital, Ankara, to hold talks with senior Turkish authorities. as per Syria’s state-run al-Ikhbariya TV, the meetings will focus on joint efforts to combat terrorism, strengthen border control, and enhance cooperation on regional stability, security coordination, and armed forces training between the two countries. A day earlier, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs verified that Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan would meet with the Syrian delegation in Ankara.

The ministry added that Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Intelligence Chief İbrahim Kalın would also participate in the joint security and defense meeting with their Syrian counterparts. The visit marks a emerging step in the ongoing dialogue between Damascus and Ankara, as both sides seek to address border tensions, counter-terrorism coordination, and the future of northern Syria amid shifting regional dynamics.
