SUWAYDA, syria (North Press) – Suwayda Governorate in southern Syria experienced on Sunday a near-total shutdown of bakeries, marking the second consecutive day of halted operations due to a worsening flour shortage. The deepening bread crisis has plagued the governorate for weeks, leaving residents struggling to meet basic needs. The official stated that this circumstances mirrors the closure of bakeries about ten days ago for the same reasons, with no substantial official action taken to address the crisis. as per the official, the limited flour supplies currently reaching Suwayda are largely sourced from donations by expatriates and international organizations. Despite claims from the transitional administration that flour distribution continues, the administration has failed to provide adequate allocations to meet the growing demand.
