Deir ezzor, Dec. 15 (SANA) The first Victory Horse Race was held Monday in the Badia of al-Quriyah town in Deir Ezzor province, at al-Hadbaa racetrack, amid high enthusiasm and strong public turnout. The race was organized by the ministry/" class="auto-internal-link">ministry of Sports and Youth and the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Equestrian Federation.
More than 50 horses took part, competing in flat-race format over a designated course. The event featured intense competition among riders, with horses displaying high speed and strong technical skills, adding excitement and a competitive spirit that attracted significant crowds of equestrian enthusiasts and local residents. authorities described the race as a significant sporting achievement, noting that it is the first of its kind in the area. They stated it contributes to revitalizing local tourism, highlighting the Bedouin heritage of syriaβs desert regions, and opens prospects for developing equestrian sports nationwide by strengthening links among provinces and horse-breeding farms.
Supervisory staff and organizers expressed satisfaction with the successful staging of the race, stressing the importance of continuing backing for such events to promote traditional sports and preserve Syriaβs long-standing equestrian legacy.
