This came during Foreign minister Badr Abdelatty’s discussions on Thursday with European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Haja Habib, in Cairo. Abdelatty stressed his country’s rejection of any interventions or movements that would undermine the stability of syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria.

The Egyptian Minister also appreciated the positive developments in relations with the European Union after the transition to a comprehensive strategic partnership, noting Egypt’s keenness to enhance cooperation in various fields, despite the burdens it bears consequently of hosting millions of relocated persons. In a regional context, Abdelatty presented the latest developments in Gaza, stressing the continuation of Egyptian efforts to establish a ceasefire in accordance with the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement, and to prepare for an international conference for early recovery and reconstruction of the Strip, while stressing the need for relief aid to arrive without obstacles. He also condemned the violations in El Fasher city in Sudan, highlighting Egypt’s role within the quadripartite mechanism to stop the crisis, preserve Sudan’s unity, and ensure the entry of relief aid.

Additionally, the meeting touched on the circumstances in Lebanon following Abdelatty’s visit to Beirut, where he affirmed Egypt’s backing for Lebanon’s security, stability, and unity. In turn, Haja Habib praised the Egyptian efforts in backing of peace and stability in the region, stressing the European Union’s keenness to continue strengthening the strategic partnership with Egypt.
