📰 Christmas lights illuminate Saints Peter and Paul Church in Sqaylabiyah

Hama, Dec. 14 (SANA) Residents of the city of Sqaylabiyah in the western Hama countryside lit up Saints Peter and Paul Church on Saturday evening in celebration of Christmas, in an atmosphere that coincided with the first anniversary of liberation, lending the occasion a distinct national and spiritual character.

The celebration was attended by local residents and community figures, who gathered in an atmosphere marked by joy and reflection, combining the spirit of Christmas with symbols of recovery and renewed stability. Fahd al-Nasser informed SANA’s correspondent that this year’s celebration carried “double symbolism,” as it brought together the joy of Christmas and the anniversary of liberation, reflecting “the image of a free Syria that is gradually regaining its strength. ” Ibrahim Haddad and Anwar Sankari stated the event embodied the values of love and fraternity in Sqaylabiyah, noting that residents from various social groups took part in the celebration.

They stressed that the shared participation reflected solidarity and national unity following liberation, underscoring the depth of bonds among Syrians. The lighting ceremony is part of a series of events being held across multiple Syrian regions to mark Christmas and the first anniversary of liberation, conveying a message of unity and adherence to the values of peace and coexistence as Syrians look toward a more hopeful future.
