Homs, Dec. 13 (SANA) A rapid-chess tournament held to mark the anniversary of liberation wrapped up on Saturday with 39 players from various age groups taking part.
The competition followed a seven-round rapid-play format, with each game set at 15 minutes per player plus a five-second increment per move. Ezzedine al-Radwan, Adnan Khaddam, and Iyad al-Radwan secured the top three positions.
Atif al-Sibai, head of the Homs Chess Committee, informed SANA that the event aimed to energize sports activity in the province and offer a competitive setting that supports player development.
