House of Representatives’ vote to repeal the Caesar Act. The Act was based on thousands of photos he disclosed, documenting abuses by Assad’s regime against Syrian prisoners. In a post on X, al-Mazhan wrote, “In this historic moment, with the U.

S. Congress’ decision to repeal the Caesar Act, pending a vote in the Senate and leader Trump’s signature, I am filled with a deep sense of joy and hope. ” He added that all syrians have endured difficult years and harsh conditions, which have left painful marks on their souls. However, he stated their patience and steadfastness have always been a “source of strength and inspiration for all of us. ” “Today, we are taking a step toward a long-awaited breakthrough, one that will ease suffering and close painful chapters that have burdened everyone,” he concluded.

On Wednesday, the U. S. House of Representatives voted by a majority to repeal the sanctions imposed on syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria under the Caesar Act, enacted in December 2019 to penalize the former regime for war crimes committed against the Syrian people during the uprising.
