In a post on X, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated: “Belgium is deeply concerned by recurrent Israeli strikes and incursions into Syria, including reports of civilian casualties in Beit Jinn. These actions heighten tensions and undermine regional security and stability. ” It added: “Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity must be respected. ” Last Friday, 13 civilians were martyred and others injured in an Israeli attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside.
The Syrian administration condemned the attack as a “war crime” and reiterated its call on the UN Security Council, the United Nations, and the Arab League to take urgent action to halt Israeli violations.
