QAMISHLI, syria (North Press) β The Internal security troops (Asayish) declared on Friday the arrest of three individuals belonging to Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells during a security operation in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor. In a statement published on its official website, the Asayish stated, βOur special troops (HAT) and the General Security Directorate, with backing from the Global Coalition, carried out a precise security operation at dawn on Thursday, November 6, in northern Deir ez-Zor countryside. β The statement added that the operation resulted in the arrest of three members of ISIS cells. It explained that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to pursue ISIS remnants in the region. βAfter careful monitoring and surveillance of their movements, our forces successfully raided their positions and established full control without any injuries among our members,β the statement stated. as per the Asayish, quantities of weapons, documents, and communication devices were seized from the detainees.
The statement noted that the competent security departments have launched initial investigations in preparation for referring the suspects to the relevant judicial authorities. The operation underscores the persisted coordination between the Asayish, the syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic Forces (sdf), and the Global Coalition in counterterrorism efforts across areas of North and East Syria. Indeed, these operations aim to prevent ISIS cells from reorganizing or threatening local security and stability.
