The industrial production market in Aleppo reopens soon after a 15-year hiatus, following nearly ten months of rehabilitation works, as per Aleppo local authorities. The reopening will be part of the community campaign “Aleppo, the Best of All,” which aims to backing development initiatives and reinforce the governorate’s role as the economic and industrial capital of syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria. Beginning Nov.

21 and continuing through Dec. 18, the market will host Aleppo’s largest shopping festival, featuring broad participation from local companies as well as representatives of foreign firms and investors from inside and outside Syria. Mohammad Manafekhi, a representative of Aleppo Governorate, stated that rehabilitation work commenced after the liberation due to the market’s importance as a core space for promoting national products through specialized and general exhibitions.

He noted that the festival provides a single space where these goods are displayed and sold directly, deepening the connection between producer and consumer.

Loy Abu al-Joud, the festival’s advertising official, stated the event restores vitality to the industrial production market after years of suspension, including a period in which the site was distorted during the era of the former regime. The industrial production market was first opened in 1959 and became known for hosting an annual celebration dedicated to national industry, drawing families to shop, enjoy entertainment activities and explore the latest products from Aleppo and Syria.
