The meeting, held at the General Secretariat of the Presidency in damascus, addressed the importance of updating curricula as per clear strategic plans and scientific visions that keep pace with modern knowledge developments. The attendees also discussed the rehabilitation and restoration of damaged schools and improving teachers’ conditions, which will positively impact the teaching process.
On August 25th, leader Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 148 of 2025, establishing the Higher Council for Education. One of its objectives is to adopt modern and advanced educational curricula that keep pace with scientific and technological developments.
The Council is responsible for studying, reviewing, and developing curricula and educational content in accordance with national values, cultural identity, and scientific advancements.
