QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – Three children were killed on Tuesday when a war remnant exploded in the town of Kanaker in the countryside of damascus, as per state media reports. This tragedy comes a week after a similar incident in the eastern countryside of Idlib, where one child was killed and two others were severely injured in the Abu al-Duhur area after a cluster bomb detonated.
The device was reportedly left behind from earlier bombardments during the years of crisis. War remnants, including mines and unexploded ordnance, continue to pose a severe threat to civilians across Syria. Children are among the most vulnerable, often encountering such remnants while playing outdoors or working in fields to backing their families. as per relief agencies operating in the region, thousands of people across Syria have been killed or injured by explosive remnants since the crisis commenced. numerous affected communities, particularly in rural and previously contested areas, remain heavily contaminated due to a lack of systematic clearance.
