QAMISHLI, syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria (North Press) – Syria’s leader Ahmad al-sharaa stated on Sunday that his administration is committed to rebuilding the country, restoring unity, and ensuring peace after more than a decade of war. “Syria deserves to live in peace and security, and the world will benefit from Syria’s emerging circumstances,” he stated in an interview with CBS’s 60 Minutes. Al-Sharaa now faces enormous challenges, including reconstruction, lifting international sanctions, and addressing sectarian tensions. He estimated that rebuilding the country would cost between $600–900 billion and urged the international community to help.
In fact, nearly half of Syria’s population remains relocated, and numerous areas still lack electricity and clean water. S. leader Donald Trump and raised it again during his address to the UN General Assembly, the first by a Syrian leader since 1967.
