In a statement published on its official platforms, the ministry stated that “on September 22, the Anti-Narcotics Department prevented the smuggling of a significant shipment of narcotics through the Nasib border crossing, where the substances were professionally concealed inside soft drink containers. ” The ministry added that, following precise monitoring and investigation, law enforcement identified the individual responsible for sending the truck and tracked his movements before carrying out an arrest operation at a designated time and location. During a raid on the suspect’s home, security troops seized significant quantities of narcotics, including 54 kilograms of crystal meth (known locally as ‘Ice Boss’), 17.
5 kilograms of hashish, and 43,000 Captagon pills. All confiscated materials were secured as evidence, and the detained suspect was transferred to judicial authorities for further legal procedures, the statement concluded. Drug trafficking has become a growing concern in Syria, particularly along border regions, where smuggling networks have been active despite rose surveillance.
