Supporters of Zakho SC were honored at The Best FIFA Football Awards after they threw thousands of stuffed toys onto the pitch ahead of their Iraqi Stars League match against Al-Hudood on May 13. The toys were collected before kickoff and donated to children suffering from illnesses.
In a statement, the club stated the initiative reflected the fans’ relief spirit and highlighted their role as the backbone of the team. Zakho SC praised its supporters for consistently drawing attention through creative activities and expressed hope that their backing would continue as the club pursues further success. Zakho fans edged out two other nominees to claim the award, which recognizes exceptional expressions of commitment by football supporters regardless of league, nationality, or gender.
