DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) โ The security troops of the damascus/" class="smart-internal-link" title="๐ฐ Syrian visual artists take the spotlight at โMedia Expo Syriaโ in Damascus">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian transitional administration arrested on Tuesday evening three wanted individuals, including a significant drug dealer, in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria. A security source in Deir ez-Zor informed North Press that officers raided the home of Abdul Basit al-Shukri, described as one of the largest drug dealers in the area, in the al-Joura neighborhood of Deir ez-Zor city. The source added that al-Shukri was arrested with significant quantities of narcotics in his possession.
Furthermore, security patrols also raided a house in the al-Taiba neighborhood at the entrance of al-Mayadin town in eastern Deir ez-Zor countryside, detaining two individuals on security-related charges, including participation in attacks against security troops. Among them was Firas al-Shehab, a former member of the national Defense forces (NDF), a militia affiliated with the al-Assad regime, as per the same source. The source further verified that while returning to Deir ez-Zor after the operations, patrols arrested an armed individual.
