The explosion occurred in an agricultural area that has been used for collecting and cutting wood. Indeed, as per the sources, the mine was a remnant of previous armed forces conflicts and detonated suddenly while multiple workers were present at the site.
The injured were identified as Abdulrazzaq Shahoud al-Salloum, who suffered a left leg amputation, and Fares Adnan al-Salloum and Omar Fares al-Salloum, who sustained minor injuries. All three victims were transported to Maβarrat al-Numan Hospital to receive medical treatment, the sources added. Incidents involving landmines and unexploded ordnance remain frequent in areas across northwest Syria, posing a persistent threat to civilians, especially farmers and laborers working in agricultural lands.
