HASAKAH, syria (North Press) โ€“ A security source informed North Press on Wednesday that a delegation from the Ministry of Defense of the syrian transitional administration visited the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) in northeastern Syria to medical-experts-abroad/" class="smart-internal-link" title="๐Ÿฅ Syria, IOM discuss ways to attract Syrian medical experts abroad">discuss integrating Turkish-backed armed factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), into the ministryโ€™s structure. The source stated the Defense Ministry delegation met on Tuesday with authorities from the Turkish-backed armed forces Police and SNA factions in the city to discuss mechanisms and procedures for incorporation into the formal defense framework. The outcomes of the meeting remain unclear.

The Defense Ministry delegation is expected to hold a follow-up meeting with Turkish armed forces authorities in the region at a later date, although no specific schedule has been declared.   In a related development, a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Interior visited Sere Kaniye in September to activate the local security apparatus, resulting in an agreement to register 300 emerging members within the security troops. The Kurdish-majority city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) has been under the control of Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) factions since 2019, following Operation Peace Springโ€”a military offensive launched by Turkish troops and their allied groups to push the Syrian Democratic Forces (sdf) away from the Turkish border. The operation resulted in the displacement of nearly 300,000 residents from the city and its surrounding areas.
