On Thursday, the minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, and Agriculture Minister, Amjad Badr, met with Andrii Sybiha, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the Fourth International Summit on Food security in Kyiv. During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop relations between syria/" class="auto-internal-link">syria and Ukraine.

Notably, sybiha expressed Ukraine’s readiness to backing food security in Syria and help develop its agricultural sector. In a separate meeting, Agriculture Minister Badr and his delegation discussed with Ukraine’s Economy, Environment, and Agriculture Minister, Oleksii Sobolev, the prospects of signing a joint cooperation agreement between the two countries.

The summit’s main objective is to enhance the resilience of food supply chains, expand backing beyond grains to a wider range of food products, and promote agricultural innovation and rehabilitate damaged lands, including demining efforts.
