QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Jordan’s Armed troops declared on Wednesday that they carried out strikes targeting arms and drug traffickers operating along the kingdom’s northern border with Syria, citing ongoing security threats posed by cross-border smuggling networks. as per the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the Jordanian Armed troops stated they had “neutralized several arms and drug dealers who organize weapons and narcotics smuggling operations on the northern border front of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. ” The statement added that Jordanian forces also targeted multiple factories and facilities used by the smuggling groups as launch points for their operations toward Jordanian territory. The sites were destroyed “based on precise intelligence information and in coordination with regional partners,” Petra declared.

Meanwhile, Syria’s state-run television stated that the Jordanian armed forces carried out multiple airstrikes against drug smuggling networks and storage farms in the southern and eastern countryside of Suwayda province, in southwestern Syria. Al-Ikhbariya TV announced that the strikes targeted areas in the villages of al-Shaab, Khazma, and Malah, which it described as being under the control of smuggling gangs in eastern Suwayda.
