damascus/" class="auto-internal-link">damascus 30 Nov (SANA)The syrian Narcotics Directorate, in coordination with Iraq’s General Directorate for Drugs and Psychoactive Substances, has foiled an attempt to smuggle 57 kilograms of pot in a joint, high-level security operation, the Interior Ministry stated on Sunday. In a statement, the ministry declared that two suspects were arrested during the operation. The narcotics were confiscated, and the arrestees were referred to the competent judicial authorities to face the necessary legal procedures.
The ministry stated the operation reflects the growing level of regional coordination and the persisted efforts to combat cross-border criminal networks and protect society from the dangers of narcotics. It added that the Narcotics Directorate will continue to implement strict legal measures and strengthen international cooperation to safeguard national security and stability.
