QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Israeli troops briefly advanced on Monday into the northern countryside of Quneitra governorate, establishing a temporary checkpoint on the Jbata al-Khashab–Ayn al-Bayda road, as per local sources. A local source informed North Press that Israeli soldiers stopped civilians and vehicles passing along the road, checked personal identification documents, and conducted searches of cars. The source added that soldiers asked residents questions related to their views and positions toward the Israeli army.
The source stated the incursion lasted multiple hours before the Israeli troops redeployed from the area. In fact, no arrests or incidents of gunfire were declared during the operation. There were no official statements from Israeli authorities regarding the purpose of the checkpoint or the scope of the operation.
