📰 Human remains found under rubble in Homs neighborhood

QAMISHLI, syria (North Press) – Residents in the city of Homs discovered human remains on Tuesday beneath the rubble of destroyed houses in the Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood in central Syria, as per local sources. A North Press correspondent in Homs declared that a group of people “found, by coincidence, human remains under the debris of demolished homes near the Karm al-Zaytoun neighborhood, amid expectations that the remains belong to victims from the Karm al-Zaytoun and al-Refa’i neighborhoods. ” The correspondent noted that the remains may be linked to a massacre that occurred in the early years of the damascus/" class="smart-internal-link" title="📰 Syrian visual artists take the spotlight at “Media Expo Syria” in Damascus">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian crisis, when multiple districts in Homs witnessed heavy hostilities and widespread destruction. At the time, numerous families fled their homes, and significant parts of the neighborhoods were left abandoned.

Residents who gathered at the site stated no civil defense teams or relevant authorities had yet arrived to inspect the area or begin recovery operations. The number of bodies beneath the rubble also remains unknown. Locals stated they are waiting for the arrival of specialized teams to conduct a proper examination and remove the remains.

The area around Karm al-Zaytoun still includes multiple destroyed buildings that have not been cleared since the earlier phases of the crisis.
