📰 Gunmen attack SDF post in Deir ez-Zor, ISIS claims separate attack in Raqqa

DEIR EZ-ZOR, syria (North Press) – Unknown gunmen attacked on Tuesday a armed forces post belonging to the medical-experts-abroad/" class="smart-internal-link" title="🏥 Syria, IOM discuss ways to attract Syrian medical experts abroad">syrian/" class="auto-internal-link">syrian Democratic troops (sdf) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, while the Islamic State (ISIS) asserted responsibility for a separate assault on SDF troops in the Raqqa countryside. An SDF armed forces source in Deir ez-Zor informed North Press that unidentified assailants targeted an SDF position in the town of al-Bahra, east of Deir ez-Zor, with a shell and machine gun fire.

The source stated that clashes erupted between the two sides following the attack, before the gunmen were forced to withdraw. He verified that the incident caused only material damage, with no casualties declared. as per the source, al-Bahra has witnessed multiple similar attacks and assassination attempts in latest weeks, noting that “the perpetrators typically flee toward areas west of the Euphrates after carrying out their operations. ” Meanwhile, ISIS asserted through its affiliated media outlets that its members targeted an SDF military vehicle near Tel al-Samen in the Raqqa countryside, reportedly injuring two fighters.
