RAQQA, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) declared on Tuesday evening the approval of its general budget law for 2026, with total expenditures exceeding $1. 5 billion. as per the law, total revenues for the twelve-month fiscal year are estimated at $1,363,642,000, while total expenditures are projected at $1,577,392,000, resulting in an anticipated budget deficit of $213,750,000.
Notably, the law stipulates that monthly expenditures for public institutions, including operational costs and salaries in cities, municipalities, and affiliated entities, will be financed through self-generated revenues collected within each city. Budget revenues are derived from a range of sources, including taxes, fees for licenses and official documents, subscription fees for public services, as well as internal and external grants and aid, as per the text of the law.
Moreover, the budget also details the financial outcomes of the current fiscal year, noting that the AANES’ revenues reached $855,471,000, while expenditures amounted to $1,090,120,000, leaving an expected deficit of $234,648,000. By Zana al-Ali
